World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO)

A self-funding agency of the United Nations created by the WIPO Convention in 1967. WIPO's stated mission is to lead the development of a balanced and effective international Intellectual Property (IP) system that enables innovation and creativity for the benefit of all. WIPO administers 26 intellectual property treaties including the WIPO Convention. The WIPO membership consists of 191 member states.
