Recovery Point Objective (RPO) is an important part of an IT Disaster Recovery plan and describes a period of time in which business operations must be restored following a disruptive event, such as a cyberattack, natural disaster or communications failure. RPO is typically paired with Recovery Time Objective (RTO).
